Just reread this all time favorite historical romance of mine and DAMN! Was it really like this the first time round?🤔
Clayton the Duke of Claymore is loaded, super gorgeous and super possessive. You know how when you read the first time round and you are swept up by the emotions, fall in love with the guy and just rank it as the best romance story ever? Well, that’s what I did the first time I read it 10 years ago. Yikes! I’m old 🙈. Gave it a 10 put of 5, 🙌🏼.
So as I was reading it again this weekend, 3 things jumped out from the book.
1. I really like Nicki DuVille way more that the main romance interest Clayton🙌🏼😍
2. Clayton is super jealous and possessive. Crazy stalker much? I mean, he was rich and a famous rake but after seeing her briefly in Paris he goes to her father, purchases her and orders her around telling her she can’t marry her childhood crush? In real life this will classify as psycho tendencies.
3. And for the mother of all, he raped her out of JEALOUSY?😤
Whitney my gal (talking to the characters like I know them hehehe!😋) . Love your spirit and all, but how you made us love Clayton despite his weird tendancies, please have an affair with Nicki😘
Anyway, let me go back to my normal life and leave novel characters alone.
Oh, and notice my rating. Despite all the above, I’ll still re read this in 10 years😂😂💃🏽
