Book Lovers Café
Dear fellow book lover,
I consider myself the number one fan of books (lol, don’t we all! :)) and in essence, my passion for reading stems from a deeper feeling of wanting to knowing what is and wanting to belonging to something bigger than myself.
My first memory was of my father giving me a storybook about Red Riding Hood on my birthday. The stories in the children fairy tales truly captivated me and I could never get enough.
I cannot say with certainty at what age I was when I realized that the real world was nothing like in the fairy tales. Well, we all wish it was but what i learnt was that writers were dreamers who wrote about worlds that they visualized and created for the rest of the world to be a part of. And from then, how i wished I could be like them, you know, create beautiful works that would captivate the world.
But, well, I tried, I really did. All through high school, I entertained my friends and classmates with wonderful tales written in simple notebooks that got passed around in class until only ratty papers would remain. And as time passed and it was time to join college, I sadly let go of my passion as if letting go of a trinklet and decided to do more professional/white collar courses.
My career, well that’s another interesting journey but what’s surprising is I still miss the feel of putting words onto paper, hmm, now it’s typing on my keyboard lol.
So, I now encourage you to join me on this journey as I learn to find my footing in the literary world. It’s a book review blog but, hmm, I just might surprise you with with a few stories here and there of my own.
